Part of our family tradition

I just read Rita's review and crazy how similar our story is. My dad would have us over to eat and the big surprise was this chocolate cake from Freed's. It was always such a big deal that he had made the trip there to get the freshest piece. So glad I found it on this site because my husband asked for it for his birthday.

A slice of Heaven

One of the perks of growing up here was having Dad surprise us with a pink box of chocolate heaven from Freed's, called Chocolate Tea cake by the pound. We were so excited every time he'd stop there on his way home from somewhere and surprise us with a pound or so! It was the perfect chocolate cake~ rich and decadent, but not too sweet! I think I remember being given one as a bridal or baby shower cake...Heavenly!
